Girlfriends Party  /  Posted 07/27/10

By jantess

My friend, Holly is one of those hostess that LOVES to throw a party--and she is so good at it. This summer she hosted a "Girlfriend Party", with the invites and all the flowers in those happy colors, orange & pink. It was spectacular! If you didn't feel happy before you walked in, you certainly did once you arrived. It was a beautiful summer evening, the laughter was constant, the yard/pond was spectacular and the ladies had a fabulous time. Not only were the pink and orange flowers and decorations perfect but the pink champagne cupcakes were to die for (secret recipe, I think). :) To top it off, every woman walked out with a goody bag--with pink luggage tags, cupcake note cards and a miniature pink cupcake. Everyone had such a wonderful time that WE decided it would be an annual event! We'll await the 2011 invite, Holly!!

Hate When That Happens!  /  Posted 07/24/10

By jantess

Don't you just hate when you fill the blender too full? You know if you turn it on, all the liquid will go flying! Well--never fear, Linda has a solution--3 straws and 3 volunteers!! No wasted margarita on a 95 degree summer day with this group!

Girlfriends-what would we do without them?  /  Posted 07/16/10

By jantess

Several of my girlfriends/family have had children getting married this summer. Having been there--done that, it is a constant reminder that we cherish our girlfriends who help out to make the event so memorable. The best part that it really is more fun than work when you get to be part of the planning and the festivities. Give the job to a group of women--and watch what they can do--WOMENS' EMPOWERMENT, collectively you will find an 'expert' in every area of event planning! :) Over the years we watch our girlfriends' children grow up. When they take this next big step on their life journey--we want to be there--they are part of our 'family' also. Congrats to all those newlyweds! I am taking the liberty of sharing some comments from those women who appreciate their girlfriends..."I am blessed to have each of you as a friend"..."you have always been there to show us love and support"...words of appreciation to all of our girlfriends who have been there through the good.. Magical Sky Lanterns  /  Posted 03/31/10

By jantess

Has anyone ever heard of Sky Lanterns? My friend and her husband discovered them in Thailand--they are a traditional way of celebrating special occasions. Made out of rice paper with a bamboo ring, thin wire and a wax ring, they are environmentally better than fireworks. My friend,Pat gave Linda 6 lanterns for her 60th BD, It was one of the highlights of the evening as friends watched and oohed and aahed! We went to an open space lit the wax ring with a lighter. When the entire ring caught fire and you could feel the wind start to fill the lantern it 'magically' lifts into the dark sky. Don't forget to make a wish as it sails for 10-15 minutes into the sky. To order sky lanterns for a special occasion, go to www.skylanterns2u.com. Allow 8 weeks to receive your lanterns from Thailand!

Make every day a celebration!  /  Posted 12/30/09

By jantess

When you've got a "new do", it calls for a celebration! Laughter is certainly better than tears, especially when you surround yourself with upbeat positive girlfriends! Recently 5 of us got together for the "new do" party when our friend Cindy bought her new wig. It was a tough day, but a couple of margaritas and everyone telling her how chic she looked, it helped to accept the reality. After all we have to keep those attitudes positive and that takes lots of friends and lots of hugs--we are on a mission!! Cindy, you look AWESOME!!
