I remember being a flower girl when I was 5 years
old. I thought I WAS the belle of the ball! At a
recent wedding my 3 nieces danced until the music
stopped and I think maybe they were the belles of
the ball. About halfway through the night they
realized that if they jumped up and then squatted
down real quick, they looked like they were
sitting in a cupcake. How fun to watch them. I
think it is so amazing how these incidents take
you back to your childhood. It's like I could
recall so many details of being 5. Thanks girls
for letting me be that little girl again! |

Remember when... / Posted 07/16/10 |
|
As we were sitting on the deck the other night, we
were commenting on the beautiful sunset. In
addition the clouds appeared and we started
imagining what shapes the clouds were taking. We
started remembering how we would often try to find
shapes in the clouds as kids. Someone once said,
a good imagination is a sign of intelligence--or
did I just make that up? :) At any rate it is so
nice to be able to enjoy all of God's little
surprises in nature. |

Easter + Birthday / Posted 04/09/10 |
|
This weekend my husband and I got to
celebrate my daughter's birthday on Easter Sunday.
As the 4 of us shared dinner and Easter brunch
the topic came up of how often this could occur.
Being in the presence of 2 engineers--we set out
to calculate the possibility. I believe this is
the first time her BD has been on Easter. I was
reminded that 27 years ago, we hosted Easter
Brunch for 5 other couple (3 of whom were
pregnant) and one who had just had a baby--so the
topic was definitely "BABIES". That evening I
went into labor and she was born the next day, but
not on Easter Sunday. I reminded her that she
waited until tip off of the Championship NCAA
Basketball game of which her doctor was a huge
basketball fan and also until the Jimmy Buffet
concert had started that her dad had tickets
for--but as is true to her nature--she would be
deciding when she would be born! We laugh at the
memories and by the way we didn't figure it out
for sure. It can only be once out of 7 ye.. Read more

Very Important / Posted 04/02/10 |
|
My mom always said "prepare your work area" . It
use to drive me crazy , but She really meant PLAN
ahead. It has served me well. This sign is too
dang funny. Shows the importance of planning and
the execution of the plan. (ps me and stevie
---same mom) |
